Breeder: Judy Johnston
My first association with Standard Poodles was as a teenager when I had a summer job in a dog grooming salon.
I was totally taken with the beauty, brains, steadfastness and fluid movement of this wonderful breed. Add to that, the cleanliness, lack of "doggy odour", and the bonus of non-shedding.
My kennel name of "Khalsa" was Registered with the Canadian Kennel Club in 1985 and at that time I was the breeder of Bullmastiffs. I attained permanent registry status in. I obtained my first Poodle in 1991, a loving bundle of black fluff who became my foundation bitch --- Champion Dawin Indigo Image of Khalsa - she graced our home for thirteen and a half years!
I have bred many champions and some breeders have started with my dogs. Through careful selection on breedings, health testing and importing, I feel that I have attained lines of Standard Poodles to be proud of. I have been rewarded with many phone calls, letters, cards and photos from happy Khalsa puppy owners.
At this time I breed blacks, creams, whites, silvers and blues. Kind loving homes are important to me - good owners make good dogs!
